wow - that's a tall building
in dubai:
a storey every three days? jeez.
i have been to dubai and have witnessed the development over there first hand, it is absolutely insane.
they do not work 8 hour days.
if it is like china, it is 24x7.
i was in the 7 star hotel there. - unbelievable!!! - not staying, just a walk in, but i did avoid the $25 "lookers fee".
it seems like they are trying reinvent and out-do the engineering world.

this is the money we "spent" on oil. the money we spend on oil has much more buying power :)
just gotta get a piece of that dubai pie
sorry to say but there is hardly any oil in dubai. 98% of uae oil is in abu dhabi and rest of it is disributed among 6 of it's states (duabi is one of them).
iran even imports gasoline.
generalizations are dangerous, but, "generally" dubai likes large projects with engineering to attract people and business. they also use american design firms.
