window safety test
the engineer has requested that we perform a safety test on our window design of 25% over the design load. there are several issues of concern:
the test is uncommon locally, though testing to the design load is common.
the supplier is quite uncertain about success
our design load is 6.9kpa so 25% over is nearly 1 ton per sq metre.
what are the members experiences in window performance tests. the engineer has told me that if i can show that the specification is unreasonable by international standards he may review the request.
