i have a client who operates a precast facility,he wants to get certified to weld a706 rebar ,i advised against it ,but he wants to move ahead, anyone know of a good reference.
i'm curious, why advise against it? i know of precasters who weld up their own embed plates with a706 bars. i imagine it saves the time and markup of having them fabricated elsewhere.
as for references, i'd start with aws, aisc, pci...
aws d1.4 is the welding code for reinforcing steel.
