refering to the uniform building code (1997), table 23-iv-j-1 (pg. 2-307), what do the values in the table represent? for example, for joist size 2x6, spacing of 12 in, modulus of elasticity of 1.4 e6, what does "10-3" represent? find a job or post a job opening i searched some lumber manufacturer's websites and i found the answer to my own question. the answer is: "10-3" represents the maximum allowable span (feet-inches). |
