seismic design of masonry walls
i don't know how the ibc requirements on this but per the 1997 code when designing for these type of structures within the seismic equation for walls there is (1+ 3hx/hr). for this type of structure, what does hx/hr equal to? i have used several different approaches and have not been questioned on this but i would like to hear other approaches.
