seismic design book recomendations ???
boss says "buy gome good books" :) so please recomend some good books on seismic design of concrete and steel buildings !! i would strongly recommend "the seismic design handbook" by farzad naeim. yes ! really good book already have it though a quick list of books i've found useful, loosly listed by awsomeness steel - aisc seismic design manual concrete - seismic design of reinforced concrete and masonry buildings, paulay concrete - pci design handbook bridges - design of highway bridges, puckett wood - design of wood structures, breyer theory - dynamics of structures, chopra theory - structural dynamics, tedesco if you don't have the seismic design manuals volumes 1, ii, and iii from ibc, i would recommend you start there. some good examples of how to use the code. fema454 seismic design of buildings and bridges by alan williams. i just bought seismic & wind forces, engineering examples by alan williams. so far so good... but i am only reading the wind part. never, but never question engineer's judgement which of the following books would you recommend or stay away from in preparation for the structural i exam and for practice? i am looking at buying only 1 totalfff">. (in other words, if you had to pick 1 of the following, which would you pick?) seismic and wind forces: structural design examples by alan williams if it is for the se1 exam, i would just buy a book for the exam preparation. i wouldnt go too deep in to seismic. never, but never question engineer's judgement |
