generally the sag is determined by the clearance below and on the sides, and/or the maximum tension desired in the line. if none of these requirements control, try different sags to get an idea of maximum sag vs. maximum tension and the right selection will be obvious. i do not know of a rule of thumb to determine the optimum sag.
