rutherford-chekene slab design criteria
i have a site with a potential of 2-1/2 inches of liquefaction settlement and surface clays with high expansion potential. i've heard of a rutherford-chekene structural slab design using criteria of 2 inches and 4 inches of settlement. a web search pulls up the firm, but no description of the design technique. can someone elaborate on these criteria or point me in the right direction? jefferys for structural slabs with poor and/or expansive soils, you would typically design it as a post-tensioned slab with stiffner ribs. you can refer to pti's "design of post-tensioned slabs-on-ground", 3rd ed. regards, auce98 thank you. i'll take a look. jefferys |
