r value for adjustment
hi,
i have client's specification for a structure to performe in case of obe and sse level earthquake, which is as follows:
eq type str. behaviour damage
obe post-elastic minor deformations, repairable
sse post-elastic severely deformed,no collapse,not operational
for the above case i am not sure how to adjust "r" value for my structure (pipe rack with concentrically braced frame in both dir.).
like if my structure is to perform elastically then i can use r=1, and for post elasic r=3.25, but for the limitation of damage as stated above, what % of r value should i use in obe & sse cases.
