masterspec vs. spectext vs. specsintac
masterspec vs. spectext vs. specsintact
given the choice of a master specification for structural items, which would you choose, and why: aia masterspec, spectext, or specsintact. also, what positives and negatives have you encountered working with these specification systems. find a job or post a job opening i'll start. aia masterspec +fairly up to date +fairly complete -some items are definately geared towards architects (division 4) -some items aren't fully incorporated (special inspection) spectext. i don't have any experience with it. specsintact -very out of date -very incomplete the only time i would use specsintact is when the client requires it. if i had to choose, i'd choose aia masterspec, not because i think it's great, but it's the only one i've worked with that i don't absolutely hate. are there any viable options other than these three choices? |
