hollow section moment connection design
does anyone know of any software or spreadsheets which are good for designing moment connections between universal columns and square hollow sections. (preferably a free downloadable piece of software)

this is a very basic connection to do by hand - it is actually quicker than entering it into a computer if you know what you are doing.
end plate, 2 bolts tand b, check bolts for prying and tension,check end plate and column flanges for bending, check welds.
once you have done it a couple of times write yourself a spreadsheet if you really think it will help.
