table 4.3b in the 2005 nds special provisions for wind & seismic lists unit shear capacities for different types of gypsum board. does anyone know what the difference between gypsum wallboard and gypsum sheathing is? what would typical gypsum wallboard at most hardware stores be classified as? for some reason there are only shear capacity values for gypsum sheathing using nails. if i assume it will be installed with screws, the only shear capacity values are for gypsum wallboard.
can anyone shed some light on this table??
