how many gap between connetion (flg.and nut&bolt) horizential beam and column is authorize?
can you elaborate please?
the aisc has guidance for bolt spacing, edge distance for sheared and rolled edges; you also have to provide clearance so that the bolts do not interfere with impact or any type of wrenches. there are also those industrial standards used by fabricators.
i suggest you consult aisc specifications section in the manual (asd and lrfd editions).
