fatigue cracking
just looking for some comment on practical issues in dealing with fluctuating live loads leading to fatigue cracking in the mining and heavy industry sectors. it seems all the australian codes have responded to fatigue with a high level of mathmatical sophisication. i am interested in practical methods of fatigue reduction and also methods of dealing with crack propogation in fea.
