elect. conduit in a 2 slab
 

elect. conduit in a 2" slab?
hi all, is running a 1" rigid elec. conduit in a 2" slab on steel decking allowed? this will leave 1" concrete cover only. would that be a shrinkage crack problem? what code should i refer to? thanks for your help

not a good idea. one inch conduit has an o.d. of 1.315. this leaves only about 5/8 inch of cover. plus aci section 6.3.5.1 doesn't allow an embedded item larger than one third the slab thickness.
its going too crack, why not run it below the pan
