constrained caisson footing and tolerate 1/2" movement?
has anyone considered using the constrained caisson footing equation per ibc 2006 1805.7.2.2 and also use the provision in 1804.3.1 to tolerate 1/2" movement that allows you to use 2x the tabular values in table 18.4.2?
if i follow the code, it seems i would be able to use the 2x tablular values in the constrained caisson footing design. however, if my footing is constrained i wouldn't be able to have 1/2" movement at the bottom.
