beam vs. slab depth
beam vs. slab depth?
hello, is there any rule of thumb for beam depth that it wont be useless in the slab? thanx in advance ok, i'll be the first: huh?! try l/12 or three times the slab thickness, whichever is greater. it depends if you are talking about a narrow, deep beam or a wide, flat beam. no, there is no rule of thumb. if you are asking, can you have a beam integral with a slab that is the same depth as the slab, the answer is yes. daveatkins function before form! mike mccann mmc engineering |
