aws d1.1/d1.1m
has anyone purchased the aws d1.1/d1.1m for 2004? what is the purpose of the "m" in d1.1m? is the d1.1m essential?
is the d1.1 alone sufficient?
i don't like to be cheap. but i don't like to spend an extra $200 if not necessary.
any comments?

m - metric
d1.m denotes metric units inclusive to the code (similar to astm a 6/a 6m).
there are a few changes between the 02 and 04. the most notable being:
*text is revised to clarify the engineer's approval requirements.
*cv power supplies are now required for gmaw/fcaw.
*additional prequalified material specifications.
