allowable load of channel
allowable load of channel
i want to make rectangular structure of channels how can i calculate the allowable load of channel. for example a tube bundle of heat exchanger is about 12 tonnes what size of channel be requred for this weight, what is calculation procedure you have not provided enough information to solve the problem. need to know, minimum.... span of channels configuration of load any wind load considerations area of unit (bottom area and all sides) support conditions of channels curious as to why you would use a channel. in heat exchanger support applications, there is most likely thermal growth between the saddles. therefore one end will act like an anchor. a channel is not the moste efficient shape to take the lateral load. this will need to be braced. like ron said above, more information would need to be given. dear ron,ag89 we want to design a trolley for transporting a tube bundle of heat exchanger during annual turn around of our plant.i am a mechanical engineer and not familiar with steel structure calculations. here is reply of your quiries span of channels 2mx2m (length x width) load configuration (say uniformly distributed load) any wind load considerations (100 km/hr) area of unit (bottom area and all sides)sides 4sqm support conditions of channels (see sketch) |
