a question regarding aci 530-99
 

a question regarding aci 530-99
section 2.1.1.2.3 states the provisions of this section only apply to masonry structures not designed in accordance with 1.1.3.
section 1.1.3 states masonry structures shall be designed in accordance with chapter 1 and another chapter (including chapter 2).
it appears that 2.1.1.2.3 is always excluded as a result.
so why put it in the book?
i've looked high and low for an answer to no avail. can anybody help?
