what type of material does 3ds max read??
what type of material does 3ds max read??
hi everyone,
anyone know what kind(s) of materials that 3ds max 2008 reads? i tried avematerial and oddbmaterial, but neither seem to transfer. i dont know if i'm doing something wrong or if there is a limitation.

which dwg version are you saving too?
i heard 3ds max 2008 has some problems with reading materials from dwg 2000 (r15).

hi sergey,
i'm writing to ac2007/2008. i'm discovering that it uses the newer material type oddbmaterial. i'm having some difficulties with it though. it might be due to my inexperience with max, however. it seems like some aspects of the material are not transferring. i can get color and opacity to come through, but specularity is giving me troubles.
am i using the right variable? i'll have to try some more things before i can say for sure what the problem is otherwise.
