unicode mapping
unicode mapping hi guys, i would like to know exactly how dd maps to characters. the reason for this question is as follows : i have two xp machines here in the office. regional settings are identical. i call ::getacp() on both machines via exsystemservices::systemcodepage() and both return cp_ansi_1252. i set the ballowcpconversion to true in the call to readfile(). so from the above i figure i would get the same characters mapped on both machines ... well you guessed, wrong :-(. basically i have a drawing that has japanese characters, but it shows chinese characters on one of the machines???? what if anything else should i check, and what seems to be the problem is very much appreciated from anyone that can help thanx again in advance jason last edited by janderssen; 5th april 2006 at 01:05 amfff">. reason: bad english the difference is probably caused by presence/absence of some code page (japanese) support. which dd version do you use? as i remember since 1.14.02 we give warning in case of conversion failure. by default on windows dd uses windows unicode conversion and on non-windows - adinit.dat which can be activated on windows too. sergey slezkin |
