in dwg files, there's a spatial_index object. do you use that object to retrieve objects in the file?
i think you don't use it because, when i drag a small region of a dwg map, performance is not really better than when i drag the entire map.
if you don't use it, do you plan to use that entity to help parsing objects of a very small area of a map.
in other word, is it possible to implement a load on demand using that spatial indexed objects?
currently spatial index stored in file is not used (it requires reverse engineering to read it). and this object may be absent in file.
dd 1.13 will be able to use spatial index which it builds itself.
