several dxf files into one database
several dxf files into one database hil i'm new begginer and i have a problem. i need to create a new empty database and insert into this base several dxf files, but in that way that each dxf files is inserted into separate layout witch name is the same as conteined entities file name. f.e. file: 2.dxf -> layout name: 2 and each etity from 2.dxf is inserted into layout 2. please help. thanks you can load the files into separate databases, create layouts in one of them (or in another empty database) and insert the contents of loaded databases into layout blocks of the destination database using oddb::insert() function. sergey slezkin thanks, i'll try as you wrote hi! it is me again! i still have a problem. i've wrote some code but it don't work as i need. code: ... oddbobjectid layoutid = pdb->createlayout(str_tmp); oddblayoutptr layout = layoutid.openobject(oddb::kforwrite); oddbdatabaseptr db_tmp = m_svcs.readfile("1.dxf"); //use insert function to put entities from db_tmp into pdb pdb->insert(layout->getlayername(), db_tmp, falase); ... //other instructions the insert() function create new block definition in pdb, but i want to put all entities from model space od db_tmp into layout "1" not into block "1". how can i do this? could someone fix this code? thanks hm.. seems your code was never compiled.. you need pass to insert layout's block record name: code: oddbobjectid idblk = layout->getblocktablerecordid(); oddbblocktablerecordptr pblk = idblk.openobject(); pdb->insert(pblk->getname(), db_tmp, falase); sergey slezkin ok! thanks for help, sergey. but i have a question. the pblk->getname() returns an odstring object witch contains the name of the block. also the layout->getlayername() expression returns an odstring object witch is the name of before created layout. my question is: what will be created: a new block definiton, or all entities will be inserted in the layout, if we assume that the layout's name and block'name are the same? in other words, how the dwgdirect knows what to create in situation like this? layout and it's block have different names. layout blocks have names: "*model_space", "*paper_space", "*paper_space0" etc. insert() function accepts block name parameter which identifies the bloxk to put entities in. sergey slezkin |
