need help to extract as graphics file from dwg/dxf
dear,
i need to modify source code implemented in our project to load dwg file into our product. the source code have been implemented before 2003.
to load dwg file following function have been used,
extern ad_db_handle adcdecl adloadfile _((void *fn,char preloadstrat,short adda2kobjs)); is defined in ad2.h.
at present we are using dwgdirect 1.14.02 library version.i could not find such a function and header file above mentioned in present version of library.
i need a information about method name which is functioning equivalent to adloadfile function.suppose there is any misunderstanding of library usage,it is better to make me to know.
can you explain what is ad_db_handle ?.
note:
i need to implement functionality in our product for previewing of dwg/dxf files,extraction as graphic file(bmp format) from dwg/dxf file and size of extracted graphic file(bmp).

the adloadfile command is from the older opendwg viewkit / toolkits not the dwgdirect libraries.
if your code was developed prior to 2003 it was most likely developed using the opendwg toolkit and not dwgdirect.
it seems like dwgdirect is the only product being actively developed by the opendesign alliance. older viewkit / toolkit products are only receiving bug fixes (if any) at this stage. if you require support for autocad 2004 and newer dwg files, then dwgdirect seems to be the only way to go.
