i have been adapting the exgsdirectxdevice codes for our use.
though accessing database in the codes,
i can not find even a similar case.

you can use odgicontect* odgsdevice::usergicontext(),
cast the pointer to odgicontextfordbdatabase* and get database from it.

can i use "odgsdevice::usergicontext()" only after "setusergicontext()"?

setusergicontext() is called within dwgdirect rendering framework, in oddbgsmanager's functions (setupactivelayoutviews, setuplayoutviews).
