petrochemical drafting standards
i am searching for a definitive guide on drafting standards specifically for the petrochemical industry. i have checked several obvious sources and found nothing specific about refineries or other petrochemical facilities. any help is greatly appreciated. check out our whitepaper library. depends on what type of standards. search here for "petro" for some. here are some that come to mind: ansi y32.11 process flow diagrams in the petroleum and chemical industries. ansi y14.15.a interconnection diagrams usas y14.15 electrical & electronics diagrams ansi y32.2 graphics symbols for electrical & electronics diagrams asme y14.5m dimensioning and tolerancing best regards, heckler sr. mechanical engineer sw2005 sp 5.0 & pro/e 2001 dell precision 370 p4 3.6 ghz, 1gb ram xp pro sp2.0 nvidia quadro fx 1400 o _`\(,_ (_)/ (_) never argue with an idiot. they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time. possibly dumb question but what country are you in? this will probably make a difference. most posters on this forum seem to be us (or maybe canada) and respond accordingly with asme/ansi etc stds. if you are in another country different specs will apply. these days most seem to be gradually converging onto the iso but there are still differences. ken thank all of you gentlemen for your kind help. ctopher and heckler, you both gave me great leaping off points from which we have found some of what we are looking for. kenat asks a fair question; we are in the u.s.a. but, our clients and other partner companies are on every continent. the inconsistencies we are seeing could also be due to asme/ansi vs. iso. do any of you gentlemen know if this issue has been looked at by any industry organizations? thanks again for all your help! |
